The Environmental Institute of Malaysia (EiMAS), a division of the Department of Environment, has organised certification programmes aimed at assisting the industry sector in meeting its environmental compliance requirements as outlined in Section 49A of the Environmental Quality Act 1974 (Act 127). These certification courses, known as the Environmental Professional Certification Programme, have been designed with the primary goal of developing well-informed and skilled officials who are essential for effectively managing pollution control and scheduled waste systems within industrial facilities.
This programme encourages the adoption of a proactive approach to compliance and social responsibility within the industry, promoting the integration of environmental management practices. As a result, it contributes to elevating environmental regulatory compliance standards and enhancing environmental quality within the country.
The Environmental Professional Certification Programme entails a certification process for participants, leading to their designation as Competent Persons under Section 49A of the Environmental Quality Act 1974 (Act 127) and its associated regulations.
EiMAS provides a comprehensive range of thirteen (13) industry certification courses across various domains of environmental pollution control.
